From raw images to retail-ready perfection – building a platform that showcases creative editing at its finest.

1. Project Vision – Showing, Not Just Telling

Retouch’s mission is to offer professional, affordable image editing services for global eCommerce businesses, photographers, and creative agencies.
The challenge was to visually communicate quality and variety of services — letting the work speak for itself.

Goals:

  • Display editing expertise across multiple categories.

  • Provide a frictionless quote and trial request process.

  • Build trust with before-and-after visuals.

2. Audience Insight – Selling to Creatives and Businesses

The target audience includes:

  • Product photographers wanting high-end touch-ups.

  • E-commerce sellers needing bulk image enhancements.

  • Fashion brands & jewelry retailers seeking precise retouching.

Design needed to be:

  • Minimalistic so the images remain the hero.

  • Category-filtered for fast browsing.

  • Conversion-focused with clear “Get Quote” and “Free Trial” CTAs.

3. UI/UX Approach – The Art Gallery of Digital Retouching

a. Color Palette & Typography

  • Crisp White (#FFFFFF) – Clean background for maximum image impact.

  • Bold Black (#000000) – For clear typography and sharp contrast.

  • Accent Orange (#FF6600) – Highlights interactive elements.

  • Sans-serif fonts for modern, neutral presentation.

b. Navigation Flow

  1. Hero Section: Overhead camera/lens imagery to set a creative tone.

  2. Tabbed Portfolio Gallery: Categories like Clipping Path, Background Change, Jewelry Retouching, etc.

  3. Before & After Showcase: Demonstrates transformation skills.

  4. Call-to-Action Block: “High Quality Image Editing at Affordable Price” with Get Quote + Free Trial buttons.

  5. Footer: Quick links + social proof.

4. Technical Execution

  • Platform: WordPress with custom gallery plugin for dynamic filtering.

  • Image Optimization: Lossless compression to ensure clarity without slow loading.

  • Lazy Loading: Smooth performance even with heavy visual content.

  • Responsive Design: Ensured sharp visuals on retina displays and mobile.

5. Key UX Decisions

  • Used side-by-side before/after images to build instant credibility.

  • Added filter tabs so visitors can jump straight to the type of work they need.

  • Free Trial CTA made visually distinct to encourage first-time engagement.

6. Impact

  • Increased free trial requests post-launch.

  • Positive feedback from international clients praising “easy navigation and clear visual proof of skills.”

  • Higher engagement on mobile gallery views.

7. My Takeaways

This project reinforced that in creative service websites, your portfolio is the product. Every design decision should make it easier for the visitor to say — “Yes, I want this level of quality.”
